The Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine first two years’ curriculum is designed to provide the scientific foundations of osteopathic medical education, the skills for preventive care for health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the osteopathic manipulative medicine skills, tenets, and values to teach our students how to be better doctors, sooner.
Collaborates in each of the integrated systems courses in the preclinical curriculum, conducts research on the biochemical, genetic and molecular mechanisms of normal and abnormal cellular processes, and provides service to the community to communicate, translate and apply scientific advancements.
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
Teaches a variety of osteopathic manipulative models integrating them with scientific foundations and clinical practice; conducts research on osteopathic manipulative medicine foundations and therapies; and works with community partners to provide clinical services to the community.
Uses a multidisciplinary academic and educational approach through Osteopathic Doctoring courses to prepare students for becoming outstanding physicians excelling in primary care; offers early clinical experiences integrated with service the community; and conducts research to strengthen the scientific foundations of Osteopathic Medicine.
TUCOM prepares students to become outstanding osteopathic physicians who uphold the values, philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine and who are committed to primary care and the holistic approach to the patient. The college advances the profession and serves its students and society through innovative education, research, and community service.
